A year after the Load Bearing Collar, TruDesign won the same DAME category again at Metstrade 2016, this time with its Skin Fitting Installation Tools, from 117 entries from 26 countries. The jury said a second win in a row was a strong endorsement of TruDesign's design-led approach.
Installing a skin fitting usually takes two people: one outside the hull holding the fitting so it can't turn, and one inside tightening the nut. The installation tools hold the fitting from outside, so one person can do the whole job. They also work as a handle while sealant or epoxy is applied, keeping hands and the work area clean.
The tools click into place when engaged, fit TruDesign domed and recessed skin fittings from ¾" to 2" (not skin fittings with tails), and are made in New Zealand from glass-reinforced nylon.
